美國選舉人投票在即，加州洛杉磯於周日(18日)在市中心發起了抗議行動，雖然川普的勝選結果難以改變，但他們仍向選舉人呼籲不要投給川普。一位參與遊行的民眾表示，他們更多是表達對川普政策的抗議，像是打擊非法移民等關乎自身的政策。
數以百計的團體參加了這場抗議活動，包含了穆斯林、猶太人、LGBT社群甚至是部分非法移民也與抗爭。他們表示，18日是聯合國所承認的「國際移民日」，他們高舉著標語「阻止川普」(Stop Trump)、「我繳稅，我不是罪犯」等標語。
根據《洛杉磯時報》報導，一位來自墨西哥，正在加州州立大學北嶺分校念書的的墨西哥移民特米克斯(Stephanie Temix)表示，她擔心她的家人可能被靜電除油機驅逐出境。如果川普履行他的競選承諾，加強對移民的管束及制定更嚴格的移民政策，特米克斯的恐懼或許會成真。
加州參議院領袖德李安(Kevin de Leon)表示，他們將保護移民的權益，並說加州將會是美國其他地區的希望燈塔。
近日美國情報機構才認定俄羅斯在大選期間的網攻確實有影響選情，美國總統歐巴馬(Barack Obama)也責成相關單位要徹底找出俄羅斯網攻的證據。各地也仍有零星的反川普抗爭遊行。
而川普本人也於18日下午在推特(Twitter)上呼籲支持者說：「如果我的多數支持者和那些在選戰中輸掉的人一樣，採取行動，甚至威脅人們，那他們將會被投以可怕的謾罵和輕蔑的嘲笑。」似乎是對反對者的反擊。
